In the morning, arrive at the historic capital of the Deccan Sultanate-Bijapur. A fascinating open-air museum that dates back to the Deccan's Islamic era, Bijapur tells a glorious tale dating back some 600 years ago. The town is blessed with a heap of mosques, palaces, mausoleums, palaces and fortifications. Explore the beautiful buildings and tombs in Bijapur. This morning, visit the superlative Chalukyan temples of Aihole and Pattadakal and compare the differences in the sculpting work between the temples at the two locations built in successive time periods. Dinner and overnight stay on board the train.Day 04 (Tue) : Hospet - Hampi
In the morning, the train will arrive in Hospet. Later, disembark the train and leave by road to visit Hampi, the 'City of Victory'. Located in the South Indian state of Karnataka, Hampi is a famous town located on the banks of River Tungabhadra which adds more charm to it. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is quite famous for its ancient temples. Here you'll have to explore the sacred & royal centers, palaces and impressive temples. In the morning, disembark the train and visit Hyderabad, the royal city of the Nizams. Golconda Fort, a ruined fort of Southern India and capital of medieval Golconda Sultanate. The region is quite famous for the mines that are known for producing the world's most famous and coveted gems such as The Koh-I-Noor and Darya-I-Noor. Lunch on board. In the evening, explore the famous Charminar and walk through the colorful and bustling streets of Hyderabad. Dinner and overnight stay on board the train in Hyderabad.Day 06 (Thu) : Ellora Caves
After breakfast on-board, de-board the train for visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ellora Caves. These rock-cut caves dedicated to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism were carved between the 5th and the 10th centuries. There is a total of 34 caves. Visit to the Ellora Caves is followed by a visit to the Bibi-Ka-Maqbara. Popular as a replica of the Taj Mahal, this monument was erected in the 17th century by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in the memory his first wife, Dilras Banu Begum. Dinner and overnight stay aboard.Day 07 (Fri) : Ajanta Caves
The train arrives Jalgaon station this morning. After having breakfast on board, get down the train for driving up to UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Ajanta Caves, a World Heritage site. Carved between the 2nd century BCE to about 480 or 650 CE, these rock-cut caves contain sculptures and murals depicting the life and times of Lord Buddha. Around 30 in number, these caves are a specimen of Indian artistry. Go on-board the train for dinner and overnight stayDay 08 (Sat) : Mumbai Departure
Breakfast on board. Deccan Odyssey will drop you at ChhatrapatiShivaji Terminus in Mumbai, where your journey will come to an end.
